Types of Swiss government Excellence scholarship
Swiss government excellence scholarship is divided into two types
- Research scholarship
- Art scholarship
This scholarship is only available to post graduate researchers in any discipline who hold the Master's degree as a minimum degree and the one who are planning to Switzerland to after research or further studies art PhD or Postdoctoral level
Research scholarship are awarded for research or study all Switzerland contonal universities, universities of applied sciences and the two federal institutes of technology as well as the four research institutes. But only candidates nominated by ana academic mentor at one of these higher education institutions will be considered.
2. Art Scholarship
This scholarship is only open for the arts students who are looking for Master's degree in arts courses in Switzerland. Art scholarship are awarded for study at any Swiss University of the Art. This scholarship is available to an applicant from a limited number of countries only.
Swiss government excellence scholarship benefits
This scholarship will provide all of the following things to the scholars:
- Will provide monthly payments of amount CHF 1,920.
- Will provide Swiss health insurance for non-EU and EFTA granted only.
- Will provide air fare to EU and non-EFTA countries scholars to get back to their own country at the end of scholarship.
- Will provide CHF 300 as a housing allowance for only at the beginning of the scholarship
- Will provide one-year half-fare public transportation card
- Will provide any amount that are related to support service and various trips, dinner and sightseeing tour that are organized by Swiss government excellence scholarship
Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
In order to be selected for this scholarship, you must fulfill all of the following requirements:
- You must be fluent in English language
- All countries of the world students are allowed to apply for this scholarship except for art scholarship.
- You must hold Master's degree or equivalent university degree that are achieved before31 July 2022 that are recognized by the Swiss University.
- You must be under 35 years old.
- If you are in Switzerland since more than one year at the beginning of scholarship in September, you are not allowed to apply for the scholarship.
- You must provide a letter from an academic host professor with including his or her short CV at the chosen Swiss university confirming why she or he is willing to supervise and support the research. note: without such support the application will be rejected.
- You must hold a research proposal which including timeframe. All required attention must be devoted seriously.
- You must be in command of the necessary language skills required for the research in both writing and speaking skills.
- If you are already benefits from a Swiss excellence scholarship last time, you are not allowed to apply for this scholarship.
- You are expected to move in Switzerland during the grant period by the time you are selected for this scholarship.
How to apply to Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship 2023-2024
In order to be selected, please follow all the instruction mentioned below:
1. Prepare and submit the following required documents
- Submit your signed medical certificate
- Submit FCS application form in both typed and printed with photos
- Submit a letter of motivation with at least two pages as a maximum
- Submit a full CV with including a list of academic publications, transcript and certificates
- Using FCS research proposal form submit your complete research proposal with at least five pages as a maximum
- You are required to submit short CV of academic mentor at home university.
- You are required to submit study plan
- You are required to submit a photocopy of certificates and grade sheets from universities or colleges and diplomas with grade start with the most recent.
- Using FCS reference form submit two letters of recommendations
- If you are in Switzerland during application procedure, submit a copy of residence
- Two copies of applicants passport with main page including personal data and dual nationals add copies of both passport.
