The Joint Japan World Bank Global Scholarship Program Scholarship will cover tuition fees, accommodation, travel expenses and monthly living expenses.

The World Bank Global Scholarship Program is open for all genders either women or men from developing countries with a relevant professional experience to the development of their countries applying for a Master's degree program in the field of development.

Joint Japan World Bank Global Scholarship Program provides scholarships for 26 programs participating in universities in the United States of America, Europe countries, Africa countries, Oceania and Japan in key areas of development, including economic policy management, tax policy, and infrastructure management. You are not eligible for the JJWBGSP scholarship if you are not eligible for one of the 26 programs. The development of international students has decided to relocate to their home country to use their new potential and increase the cultural and economic development of their graduating countries.

Joint Japan World Bank Scholarship Benefits

The Japan World Bank Master's Scholarship Program provides the following things:

  • Cost between your home country and the host university country of air travel for the period of starting your study program and immediately following end of the scholarship period will be provided through the scholarship. In addition to the both air travel, students will be awarded $500 per trip.
  • It will cover tuition fee for the program and cost of medical insurance obtained through the university 
  • The monthly living allowance to cover all expenses (food, accommodation) during the period of scholarship while you are on campus the price of it will depend on the host university.

Note:  all JJ / WBGSP scholarship cover the duration of the master's program or two years if any.

The JJ / WBGSP Scholarship does not cover:

  • Cost of VISA application
  • This scholarship will not cover the expenses related to family members.
  • Will not cover any additional courses
  • It will not cover the courses that does not meet the minimum credits that are required to earn Master's.
  • It will not cover the training of language
  • It will not cover any additional travel during the course of study program.
  • Fees related to research, additional educational materials, field trips, participation in workshops trainings or internships.
  • It will not cover any educational materials such as computer.
  • It will not cover the housing cost.

Eligibility criteria for the Japanese Scholarship Program

In order to be eligible for the World Bank of Japan Bursary Program - JJWBGSP, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • You must be efficient in English language.
  • The countries from all over the world are allowed to apply for this scholarship.
  • You must not hold dual citizenship from a developed country.
  • You must have a good physically health.
  • You must hold a Bachelor's degree earned at least 3 years prior to the application deadline.
  • You must have 3 or more years of work experience getting a Bachelor's degree.
  • Applicants must be employed in development work in a paid full-time position at the time of submitting application.
  • You must be admitted unconditionally before the scholarship application deadline for the new academic year at least on the program provided by JJ/WBGSP participating master's located outside of the applicant's country of citizenship and country of residence listed at the time of the scholarship applications opens. upload your admission letter before submitting your application.
  • Applicants will not be Executive Director, his / her alternate, of any kind to form the World Bank Group or any close relative to candidates by blood like Mother, Father, Sister, Brother, Son, Daughter, Aunt, Uncle, niece or nephew.
